MINVASET Agro Strategy -
Minimum Input and Natural Value added Agriculture for Socio-Economic Transformation

Rationale
While we cannot change the climatic conditions of the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) or easily reverse the impacts of climate change, we can innovatively align agricultural production techniques to the prevailing social and climatic conditions and utilize it to combat some of the challenges faced in these regions.
When we add a suitable agri-value addition technology to the above strategy, the results are improved food and nutritional security, and creation of employment among others.

A program of this kind will bring large areas of land into effective food production, minimize food wastage through processing and enhance food distribution

The availability of natural nutritious food will improve people’s health, which coupled with increased incomes will spur economic growth on other sectors of the economy

MINVASET agro strategy follows through the following five steps:

Identification of strategic crops that naturally do well in a particular region without requiring much inputs.
=> Formulation of a suitable value addition technology/strategy that transforms a somewhat low value crop to a high value commercially appealing product(s).
=> Preparation of prototypes of the end products including growing of the sellect trial crops in the region
Setting up of a centre of influence where:
=> all program activities are cordinated from
=> value addition facilities are installed
=> training and other mindset transformation activities are conducted from
Facilitating farmers to grow the crops
Adding value to the crops through natural processing methods that preserve nutrients, increase shelf life, and market value of the product(s)
Marketinng and selling of the value added products to all relevant market segments including to the well to do members of the society

The program results into money trickling down to the economically challanged and availability of natural, nutritious and delicious value added products for all
